From DJ-ing to rapping, the city shaped her music, and it’s now time for her to give back to the concrete jungle that nurtured her sonic talents. Citing influence from the likes of Melvin Harold, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and an array of gospel singers, Pretty Rox draws on the triumphs through tribulations from her own life story, to speak truths about the positives that she has learned in life. Unique to the core, teeming with talent, and with the ability to create positivity in the toughest of times, Pretty Rox is on to something timeless. Listening to artists such as Biggie, Foxy, Lil Kim, and Jay Z in her teens, Rox was inspired to start jotting down her own bars back in 9th grade.
